Dec. 23 at Winchester: Jay County senior Nick Clemens hit a 3-pointer from the right corner as time ran out in overtime, propelling the Patriots to a 43-40 victory over the Golden Falcons. Adam Dirksen paced JCHS with 19 points, and Jay Houck added 11. Winchester’s Kiante Enis led all players with 25 points.

Tuesday vs. South Adams: Fort Recovery had a 23-point lead midway through the third quarter slip away in a 61-59 defeat to the Starfires. SAHS sophomore Jared Grabau banked a shot off the glass with 2.1 seconds remaining, and Brandon Schoen’s potential game-tying bucket missed the mark.

Last season: Jay County cut its 26-14 halftime deficit to as few as four points midway through the fourth quarter, but Elijah Kahlig and the Indians hung on for a 42-34 victory at Fort Site Fieldhouse. Kahlig had a game-high 20 points.?Kyle Selvey led the Patriots with a career-high 14 points, including a 4-of-7 effort from beyond the arc.
Game notes: This is the second game in as many years between the Indians and Patriots after the series took a four-year hiatus beginning in 2010.
