Breaking: JC hangs on against FR
JCHS-FRHS boys basketball
Jay County didn’t panic when it found itself down six points early in the fourth quarter tonight.
Instead, it used an 11-point run to take a four-point lead in the final minute, and a potential game-winning shot by Fort Recovery’s Kyle Schroer missed the mark as the Patriot boys basketball team held on for a 32-30 victory.
Fort Recovery (2-6) went on a 12-4 run to start the third quarter, and led 23-21 heading into the fourth quarter.
Free throws down the stretch — including a perfect 4-of-4 by Jay Houck — ultimately gave Jay County (7-2) the lead and the victory against state-line rivals.
Patriot junior Adam Dirksen led all players with 15 points. Micaiah Cox paced the Indians with 11 points.
