East Jay boys hoops sweeps West Jay

In a cross county battle on Tuesday, the East Jay Middle School seventh and eighth grade boys basketball teams defeated West Jay.
The EJMS eighth graders won 30-24, and the seventh graders defeated West Jay, 26-17.
Noah Arbuckle and Gabe Link both poured in a dozen points for the East Jay seventh graders. Brandon Cramer accounted for the other two Chief points.
Dylan Bowler led West Jay with six points, and Peyton Nichols added five.
In the eighth grade contest, West Jay’s Gabe Faulkner led all players with 12 points. Wyatt Geesaman tallied seven points, and Noah Harris had three.
Michael Schlechty paced the Chiefs with 10 points, and Xavier Ninde totaled six points.

Jobe leads in loss
MUNCIE — Allison Jobe scored 12 points Tuesday in the West Jay seventh grade girls basketball team’s 20-18 loss to Muncie Northside.
The eighth grade Eagles also lost, 18-15.
Following Jobe for the WJMS seventh graders was Asilyn Davis with five points, and Neveah Cox chipped in with one point.
Rhegan Shimp paced the Eagle eighth graders with six points, and Kensey Litton tallied four points.

Tribe girls fall
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams both lost to the New Bremen Cardinals on Tuesday.
The seventh graders lost 41-13, and the Tribe eighth graders fell 16-6.
Faith Kahlig and Brooke Gaerke both had four points for the FRMS seventh graders. Brooke Kahlig and Hannah Knapke each tallied two points, and Madi Rammel notched one point.
For the Tribe eighth graders, Chloe Schowalter, Lydia Wenning and Olivia Patch all scored two points.

EJ sixth split
MUNCIE — The East Jay sixth grade A girls basketball team beat Delta on Tuesday, 25-11.
The B team lost in overtime, 20-16.
Natalie Miles led the A team in scoring with nine points, and Zoey Elzey followed with six points.
Alana Kunkler and Grace Saxman both scored four points, and Breanna Randall chipped in with two points.
Erica Grayson paced the B team with eight points.
