Sports brief: JC tankers cruise past Elwood
JCHS swimming
Jay County’s swim teams were hardly challenged Tuesday night.
The Patriot boys won every event — they went uncontested in seven of the 11 races and also in diving — in an 86-8 victory over Elwood.
The JCHS girls also took first in all 12 events in their 80-22 win.
Cody White, Travis Barton and Sok Vormohr were all double winners for the Jay County boys, who improve to 5-3 on the season. Ian Reynolds and Luke Rowles also picked up individual victories.
For the Patriot girls (9-0), Alex Bader, Sophie Bader and Anne Vormohr earned two wins apiece. Also finishing first were Katy Smeltzer and Jamie Valentine.
