Deer struck
A Portland woman was involved in a collision this morning in Wayne Township.
Brittany VanLue, 19, 118 W. Second St., Portland, was driving south on Indiana 27 near county road 300 South when a deer ran onto the road.
She was unable to avoid hitting the deer with the 1997 Buick Regal, registered to Amy VanLue, same address.
She was evaluated at the scene by Jay Emergency?Medical Service for head pain but was released with no injuries.
The accident occurred at 1:30 a.m.
Damage was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.
