Meeting for freshmen to be Monday
Taking Note
A meeting to discuss the Early College and Career High School program will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Jay County High School auditorium for current JCHS freshman and their parents.
The program will give students the opportunity to earn high school and college credits at little or no cost and will be implemented with the class of 2018.
Also the Career and Technical Education courses will be discussed.
Grant applications
Grant applications for the 2015 allocation cycle of United Way of Jay County are available at the United Way office at 101 S. Meridian St. in Portland, by calling (260) 726-7010 or by emailing [email protected].
Any organization that has a 501(c)(3) status can request an application for programs that focus on improving education, promoting financial security or improving health.
Applications are due at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
Ag scholarships
Harvest Land Co-op is offering $1,000 agricultural scholarships for the 2015-16 school year.
To be eligible, students must be a high school senior, enter a post-high school agricultural program, be involved in agriculture in their local community and live or attend school in Harvest Land Co-op’s market area.
Scholarships can be found at http://www.harvestlandcoop.com.scholarships. For more information, call (765) 962-1527.
