Felony arrests

Possession
An Economy woman and a Farmland man were arrested and preliminarily charged after a traffic stop Thursday evening in Portland.
Kyle Witt, 29, 4882 N. 1000 West, Farmland, and Jackie Himelick, 185 N. Market St., Economy, were pulled over near Water and Pleasant streets after a Jay County Sheriff’s deputy allegedly saw them without seat belts and allegedly witnessed them fail to yield. The officer conducted a search after allegedly smelling marijuana coming from the car, allegedly finding a firearm, a syringe and a rock-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Himelick was arrested and preliminarily charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of a syringe, a Class A misdemeanor. She was booked at 12:38 a.m. today into Jay County Jail, where she remains under a $4,500 bond.
Witt was arrested and preliminarily charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, a Level 6 felony, and possession of a syringe, a Class A misdemeanor. He was booked at 1:05 a.m. today into Jay County Jail, where he remains under a $4,000 bond.


Probation violation
An Albany woman was arrested Thursday morning on a Jay Superior Court bench warrant.
Lindsay Wesley, 27, 4517 N. 650 East, is charged with probation of her violation in a case of possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony.
She was arrested and booked at 9:34 a.m. into Jay County Jail, where she remains under a $15,000 bond.
