East Jay beats Bruins

HARTFORD CITY — East Jay Middle School’s wrestling team picked up its third win of the season on Tuesday with a 96-14 defeat of the Blackford Bruins.
Five Chiefs pinned their opponents for victories, including Zach Twigg (75-pound weight division), Skyler Myers (80), Hunter Mills (105), David Kohler (115) and Kevin Myers (135).
Also earning wins for East Jay were Brian Newman (110), Ryan Herring (120), Mason Winner (12), Thomas Hemmelgarn (145), Dawson Frasher (152), Cody Richards (160), Daniel Ostrowski (175), Lucas Schmitt (195), Cooper Jacks (225) and Bailey Ludy (HWT).

Eagles fall to Bears
DUNKIRK — The West Jay seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams lost to the Monroe Central Golden Bears on Tuesday.
The eighth grade Eagles fell 28-10, and the seventh graders lost 29-10.
Kameron Edwards led the eighth graders with six points to go with her seven rebounds. Rhegan Shimp and Kensey Litton both added two points and four rebounds, and Kendal Garringer grabbed a team-high seven boards.
For the West Jay seventh graders, Kymia Hankins led the way with four points.

Cavs edge Tribe
COLDWATER, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s middle school girls basketball team had an eight point lead at halftime.
It couldn’t hang on in the second half in a 26-25 loss to the host Cavaliers.
Fort Recovery led 15-7 heading into intermission and saw its advantage shrink to just three points, 19-16, after three quarters. The Indians managed just six points in the final frame while the Cavaliers scored 10 to escape with a home victory.
Hannah Knapke led the Indians with eight points, including five in the second quarter, and Madi Rammel chipped in with seven points.

West Jay loses
MUNCIE — West Jay’s sixth grade boys basketball teams both lost to Delta on Tuesday in a battle between Eagles.
The WJMS A team lost to Delta 45-10, and the B team fell 27-10.
Josh Crouch had a team-high five points for the West Jay A team. Lane Chapman and Logan Brown scored three and two points respectively.
For the WJMS B team, Seth Foudrey tallied four points, and Riley Foster added three.
