Faulkner's 32 leads in West Jay defeat

DUNKIRK — Gabe Faulkner poured in a career-high 32 points in the West Jay Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team’s 61-51 loss Thursday to the Muncie Northside Titans.
The seventh grade Eagles also lost, 53-37.
Wyatt Geesaman tallied 10 points to join Faulkner in double figures. Nick Raines chipped in with five points and Noah Harris added four.
For the WJMS seventh graders, Trevon Vore notched a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Dylan Bowler added seven points to go with his 10 rebounds, and Peyton Nichols also tallied seven points.
The Eagles’ sixth grade teams also lost to the Titans. The A team fell 46-16, while the B team was defeated 24-23.
Josh Crouch led the A team in scoring with seven points, and Logan Brown tallied three.
Jaron Alexander and Luke Haggard paced the B team with nine and six points respectively.
Chiefs top Warriors
The East Jay Middle School wrestling team defeated the Wes-Del Warriors on Thursday, 90-24.
The Chiefs had 15 wrestlers earn wins, including Zach Twigg, Dylan Racster, Ian Liette, Hunter Mills, Brian Newman, David Kohler, Mason Winner and Chandler Chapman.
Also getting victories for East Jay were Thomas Hemmelgarn, Dawson Frasher, Jordan Schricker, Damian Ressler, Jacob Schmitt, Cooper Jacks and Bailey Ludy.
It was the fourth win of the season for the Chiefs.
Tribe 8th wins
FORT RECOVERY — Payton Jutte and Clayton Pearson scored 18 and 16 points respectively to lead the Fort Recovery eighth grade boys basketball team to a 52-46 win against Coldwater on Thursday.
The Tribe seventh graders lost 45-37.
Derrick Siefring added eight points for the eighth graders in support of Pearson and Jutte. Kody Shinaberry and Blayne Thobe had four points each, and Mason Will chipped in with two points.
Riley Post led the seventh grade Indians with 10 points, and Ian Homan recorded nine points.
