Jay swimmers beat Randolph
Jay County Summer Swim Team
The Jay County Summer Swim Team only lost seven events Tuesday, cruising to a 1,251-447 victory against the Randolph County YMCA at Jay County High School.
Jay County won all 20 relay events and 53 of the 60 individual races.
Seven swimmers earned three wins apiece for Jay County, which moves to 8-0 on the season. Those winners were Cristian Carreno, Mara Bader, Josh Monroe, Ashlyn Dow, Eliza Bader and Sok Vormohr.
Double winners were Morgan DeHoff, Maddy Snow, Kolby Baldwin, Konner Sommers, Erica Hathaway, Elizabeth McDowell, Jason Minnich, Alex Bader, Anne Vormohr, Sophie Bader and Thomas Boozier.
Sophia Hoevel, Creed Bieswanger, Luke Moser, Jesse Brown, Joseph Dow, Griffin Mann and Emma James all earned victories in single events. Also picking up individual wins were Natalie Blakely, David Ostrowski, Chase McFarland, Christopher McDowell, Luke Nichols and Alex LeMaster.
Jay County looks to stay undefeated Thursday when it travels to Decatur to take on Bellmont. The meet was originally scheduled for June 18 but was postponed because of rain.
The team will then travel to Berne on July 11 for the Wabash Valley Conference meet, which is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
