Bald eagle program scheduled
Taking Note
A live bald eagle will be at the Limberlost State Historic Site Visitor Center in Geneva at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The program is being held on Independence Day to celebrate the nation’s national symbol.
The eagle will be provided by Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehab from Fort Wayne.
There will also be a PowerPoint program presented by Curt Burnette, Limberlost naturalist, that explores the recovery eagles have made in Indiana.

Water workshop
Children can dive into water wonderment this summer at John Jay Center for Learning.
The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities and John Jay will present the water workshop H2O a Go for children in grades three through six.
The workshop will be held July 16 and 17 at John Jay, 101 S. Meridian St. in Portland. Children will compete in H2O Olympics, test engineering skills, create a water-filtering system and design and build a pop bottle terrarium.

Dean’s list
Leslie Schubert, Portland, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
The following students were named to the spring dean’s list at Trine University in Angola.
Chelsea Moore, Geneva, a sophomore studying exercise science-pre physical therapy.
