Jay graduate receives award at Mayo Clinic
A Jay County High School graduate was recently honored for her years of service at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
Linda Hurst, MS, RN, CCTC, was the Ambulatory Care recipient of the Michael B. O’Sullivan, M.D. Award for Excellence in Clinical Nursing.
Hurst has been employed at Mayo Clinic for 16 years and is a Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator and Clinical Case Manager.
She attended the event with her husband Dr. Duane Hurst, mother Janet Privett and sisters Lori Laux and Cindy Denney, Portland.
Sports speaker
A sports writer for the Cincinnati Reds will visit Fort Recovery on Wednesday.
Hal McCoy, who is also the author of “The Real McCoy,” will speak at 6:30 p.m. at Fort Recovery Middle/Elementary School auditeria.
The event is sponsored by Fort Recovery Friends of the Library.
A used book sale will be held at the Fort Recovery Public Library through Saturday. Books, videos and audio books will be available for purchase.
The library’s summer reading program “Every Hero Has a Story” begins June 8 and will continue through July 15. The program will include games, crafts, programs and prizes.
