Barger scores five in defeat

Rydr Barger scored five goals Saturday, but the Hanlin Real Estate Tigers lost to A.B.’s Tire Service Lions 7-6 in the Wildcat division of Pennville Soccer League.
Barger had three goals in the first half before adding two in the second. Teammate Daniel Ludwig netted the other score.
Juan Pablo Wiggins led the Lions’ effort with five goals of his own. Kyler Witt added two scores.
In the same division, Sheldon Minch and Brendon Runyon both tallied hat tricks as the Adair Processing Jaguars defeated the Tigers 6-2. Madison Springer provided all the offense for the Tigers, scoring once in each half.
Jacob Wallace scored three times and Mareli Ambrosio added one goal to pace Nate’s Kustom Painting & Auto Body Repair Comets to a 4-2 victory against the Hanlin Real Estate Galaxy in the Space division. Gabe Pinkerton and Addison Gaskill each found the back of the net for the Galaxy.
Also in the Space division, Patriot Sportswear Asteroids topped the Comets 3-1.
Griffin Elliot scored twice and Jaylen McClain added one goal for the Asteroids. Wallace scored in the second half for the Comets.
Swingley lifts Fisher
Emma Swingley had the game-winning single Friday as Fisher Meats edged First Bank of Berne 6-5 in Portland Junior League’s Minor softball action.
Rieley Brewster added a triple and a pair of singles for Fisher. Kearston Myers tallied three hits and Ellie Wendel added two.
Gracie Maitlen paced First Bank with two singles.

Starfires win
The Starfires earned a 13-1 victory against Graphic Printing on Friday in PJL’s Major softball division.
Kayla LeFever led the Starfires with three hits, three runs and an RBI. Emilee Myers and Eliza Harruff each had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run. Anna Nussbaum smacked a triple and a single, and Kaitlyn Heckler scored twice.
Shelby Heistand had a hit and scored twice for Graphic. Lita Chowning added the other run.
