Jay swimmers cruise past Eels

Jay County’s summer swim team used its depth to its advantage Monday.
It won 49 of the 60 events, including all but one of the 20 relays, en route to a 1,338-629 victory over the Fort Recovery Eels.
With the win, Jay County moves to 5-0 on the season. The Eels drop to 1-1.
Seven Jay County swimmers each won three events. Those were Mara Bader (9-10-year-old age group), Josh Monroe (9-10-year-old), Eliza Bader (11-12-year-old), Konner Sommers (11-12-year-old), Jason Minnich (13-14-year-old), Sophie Bader (15-and-older) and Sok Vormohr (15-and-older).
Morgan Dehoff (8-and-younger), Maddy Snow (8-and-younger), Sophie Saxman (9-10-year-old), Ashlyn Dow (11-12-year-old), Christopher McDowell (13-14-year-old) and Alex Bader (15-and-older) each won two events.
A total of 16 swimmers each picked up an individual victory. Sophie Hoevel (8-and-younger), Levi Muhlenkamp (8-and-younger), Ralph Link (9-10-year-old), Joseph Dow (9-10-year-old), Lilliann Clemmons (11-12-year-old), Damian Hicks (11-12-year-old), Ben Nichols (11-12-year-old) and Juan Pablo Wiggins (11-12-year-old) all earned wins.
Also winning single events were Elizabeth McDowell (13-14-year-old), Emma James (13-14-year-old), Erica Hathaway (13-14-year-old), Luke Nichols (13-14-year-old), Anne Vormohr (15-and-older), Travis Barton (15-and-older), Ian Reynolds (15-and-older) and Thomas Boozier (15-and-older).
