Reynolds earns all-conference
Three Jay County High School baseball players earned all-Allen County Athletic Conference honors for the 2015 season.
Four South Adams Starfires were also given conference recognition.
Tanner Reynolds was the lone Patriot to make the first team. The senior batted .316 with seven doubles and one home run. He was third on the team in RBIs (18), and scored 15 runs. He posted a 2-2 record on the bump with a 3.34 ERA in five starts. He struck out 31 batters to only 15 walks in 29 1/3 innings.
Sophomore Levi Long and freshman Cole Stigleman earned second-team honors.
In four starts on the hill, Long was 1-2 with a 3.82 ERA. He struck out 24 and walked 23 in 29 1/3 innings. At the dish, he led the Patriots (11-14, 3-4 ACAC) with a .386 batting average, including six doubles and a team-high two home runs. He had a led the team with a 1.100 on-base plus slugging, shared the team lead with 19 RBIs and was second with 22 runs scored.
Stigleman, the only freshman to receive all-ACAC honors, started all 25 games for Jay County, tallying a .377 average with a team-high 29 hits. He smacked five doubles, had one of the team’s two triples, drove in 14 runs and scored 16 times. He won his only start of the season on the mound, striking out 12 and walking one in 10 innings.
Starfire seniors Skylar Schoch and Chandler Ingle were both named all-ACAC first team. Classmate Kyle Cox and junior Jayden Dull were given second-team nods.
South Adams finished its season 13-14 and tied for third in the conference at 4-3.
