Jay County residents wanting to enter projects at the Domestic Arts & Culinary Building for the Jay County Fair have several categories to choose from.
Items should be delivered from 7 to 11 a.m. on July 2.
Categories are quilts and comforters, sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlework, decorated garments, Christmas at the fair, handmade miscellaneous crafts, beading or jewelry, fine arts, dolls/toys, scrapbooking, card making, photography and recycled items.
Nursing home or assisted living residents may enter items in holiday, woodworking, painting/ drawing, jewelry, puzzle, crafts, quilt or afghan, knitted, crochet, embroidery, sewing, blooming or non-blooming categories.
Adult foods, flowers and horticulture exhibits are due between 7 and 11 a.m. on July 6.
Categories are flowers, floral arrangements, bread and rolls, cakes, pies, fancy food and candies, cookies, pies, canned fruits, vegetables and meats, preserves and jams, jellies, pickles, relish and horticulture.
Youth, through age 17, may exhibit items at the Women’s Building. Any arts, crafts and sewing articles may be entered. Items should be brought from 7 to 11 a.m. on July 2.
Youth exhibits of food, flowers and vegetables should be brought from 7 to 11 a.m. on July 6.

Library events
Game night will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at Jay County Public Library, 315 N. Ship St. in Portland.
Use the library’s games or bring your own.
Game nights will continue each Friday in July.
A DIY family craft time will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Drop in anytime to complete a craft.
Story time will be at 4 p.m. on July 7.
Kids’ crafts will be at 2 p.m. on Fridays in July. Pointing at the Pencil will be July 10, soap sculpture is July 17, dream catchers will be July 24 and sand pictures is July 31.
