Fort Recovery continues reading program

Several events are coming up at Fort Recovery Public Library as part of its summer reading program ‘Every Hero Has a Story.’
Fun crafts will be held at 10:30 a.m. on July 7. Science Central from Fort Wayne will present a program at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10.
 Students will perform the play “R.O.M. 3.0 and Julia” at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 11.
A pool party will be held, for those who participated in the summer reading program, at 4:30 p.m. on July 15. There will be snacks and prizes.

Art exhibit
The exhibit ‘Points of View’ from David Hannon, of Muncie, is on display through July 17 at Arts Place in Portland.
Hannon’s representational paintings balance fact with fiction, with his current exhibit focusing on personality archetypes waging an ideological and philosophical battle of wits.
His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
Arts Place is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Science event
 Bodin Sikes, a freshman at South Adams High School, will attend the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Boston Sunday through Tuesday.
He was nominated by astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Science director of the National Academy of Future Scientists.
Sikes will hear Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science winners speak about leading scientific research, be given advice from deans of the world’s top tech universities, be inspired by other teen science prodigies and learn about the future of science and technology.  

Minnetrista events
A farmer’s market is held from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday and from 3 to 6 p.m. each Wednesday at Minnetrista in Muncie. A canning booth will be open with free samples and to answer questions on canning.
The exhibit ‘My Collection/My Story’ is on display through Sept. 7, featuring comic books, rare coins, heirloom clocks and more.  

Anniversary party
Swiss Heritage Village & Museum, 1200 Swiss Way in Berne, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on July 11. There will be half-price tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and cake and ice cream served from noon until closing.

Bookmobile visits
The Jay County Public Library bookmobile will visit Redkey Elementary from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 1 and July 8 and Bearcreek Farms from 9 to 11 a.m. on July 2 and July 9.

Jay Library events
A mythological heroes Olympian special program for teens will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jay County Public Library.
Preschool programs will be at 9 a.m. on July 2 and 9.
JCPL is located at 315 N. Ship St. in Portland.
