Grieshop gets FFA grant for ag experience

Jay County FFA member Carly Grieshop, Portland, received a $1,000 Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) grant from the National FFA Foundation.
All FFA members must complete an SAE by creating and operating an agriculture-related business, working at an agriculture-related business or conducting an agricultural research experience.

HSE reminder
Residents are reminded the High School Equivalency (HSE), formerly GED, diploma orientation and exam are offered by appointment at the John Jay Center for Learning in Portland.
HSE meets Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Music Man
The Winchester Community High School Choral Department will present Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” in March.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 15.

Dean’s list
Kaylyn Frye, Bryant, was named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. Frye is a sophomore majoring in music and plans to intern at the K-Love Fan Awards in May in Nashville. She is the daughter of Tom and Lisa Frye.
