Friday vs. Bellmont: Jay County’s defense kept the visiting Braves without a point for more than 12 minutes in a 53-28 victory in the regular season finale for both teams. Justin Dirksen paced the host Patriots with 11 points, and Zach Pryor matched his season high of 10 points.
Season leaders (per game): Points — Adam Dirksen 11.5, Jay Houck 11.1, Justin Dirksen 7.6. Rebounds — Adam Dirksen 5.0, Houck 4.4. Assists — Zach Pryor 3.9.

Friday at Richmond: The visiting Generals had a 30-27 lead late in the first half Friday but eventually lost to the Red Devils 76-61. It was the sixth consecutive loss for Wayne, which has now had two losing streaks of six or more games.
Season leaders (per game): Points — AJ?Neal 11.5, Troyon Smith 7.6, Josiah Hopson 7.4. Rebounds — Neal 8.1, Auston Robertson 6.2. Assists — Smith 3.8.
Last meeting: Adam Dirksen and Jay Houck turned in season-high totals of 12 and 11 rebounds respectively as Jay County defeated?Wayne, 35-17. The Patriots limited the Generals to two points in the second quarter. Jay County was 52 percent from the field while Wayne shot 21 percent for the game.
Game notes: This is the second meeting this season between the Patriots and Generals. It will be the first time the teams meet in the sectional tournament in three years ... Wayne has lost six straight games for the second time this season ... Should Jay County and Homestead play in the sectional championship, it will be moved to Monday because the Spartan girls basketball team plays in the Class 4A?state championship Saturday night in Indianapolis.
