Haggenjos to study

Taking Note

Liza Haggenjos, Portland, a Denison University student, is studying with the Arcadia College of Global Studies Program in the United Kingdom this spring, as part of the university’s off-campus program.

Painting and wine
Arts Place, Blackford County Center, will have an evening of acrylic painting, light refreshments and wine from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
A teaching artist will guide participants in completing a painting that night.

Spelling winners
The 2015 Mercer County Spelling Bee was held in February at Wright State University Lake Campus.
The first runner-up was Dylan Langenkamp, a sixth grade student from Fort Recovery Middle School. His parents are Ray and Jackie Langenkamp.
The second runner-up was Clayton Pearson, an eighth grade student from FRMS. His parents are Steve and Beth Pearson.

The Mobile Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall will be displayed from 8 a.m. April 30 to 3 p.m. on May 3 at Winchester Community High School, 700 Union St. in Winchester.
The Mobile Vietnam Veterans Memorial from Antelope Valley, California, is a half-scale replica of the original Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall.

Dean’s list
Alyson Lucas was named to the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences Executive Dean’s List in the School of Global and International Studies for the 2014 fall semester with a 4.0 GPA. She was also admitted to the Indiana University Hutton Honors College.
Lucas is the daughter of Stephanie Reynolds, Portland, and Stephen Lucas, Thibodaux, Louisiana.
