Training is set for Tuesday

Purdue Extension will host a Jay County Agricultural & Natural Resources Forage?Training Program on Tuesday at Jay County Retirement Center, 1035 E. 200 North, Portland.
The program will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Dr. Keith Johnson, profesor and extension forage specialist, will discuss the best management practices for pasture and forage samples of beef, dairy, sheep and goats.

Festival correction
Madeline May, a freshman at Ball State University, has been chosen as a 500 Festival princess.
She is the daughter of Robert and Dawn Stolz and the granddaughter of Janet Privett, Portland.
Drug seminar
A Drug Awareness Seminar will be held at 5 p.m. April 6 at Jay County Public Library.
A Portland Police D.A.R.E. officer will talk about drug trends, warning signs of abuse and law enforcement procedures.
