Marijuana plea
Jesse A. Gunter, 32, Muncie, entered a plea of guilty in Jay Superior Court to possession of marijuana, enhanced to a Class D felony. He was sentenced to 18 months in Jay County Jail with all but 60 days suspended, given 28 days credit for 14 days served, with the remaining portion of the sentence to be served on home detention. He was fined $25 and assessed court costs of $168, ordered to pay a $200 drug abuse interdiction fee and a $400 substance abuse program fee, and placed on formal probation for 14 months.
Theft plea
Haley M. Franklin, 22, no address available, entered a plea of guilty in Jay Superior Court to theft, a Level 6 felony. She was sentenced to two and one half years in Jay County Jail with all but 135 days suspended, given 135 days credit for time already served, assessed court costs of $168, and placed on formal probation for 25 months.
Charged
Ralph David Mills, 30, Ridgeville, has been charged with causing serious bodily injury when driving while intoxicated, a Level 6 felony, in Randolph Superior Court in connection with a Feb. 14 traffic accident in which he drove into a rural Winchester home. He also faces misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a controlled substance in his system. An initial hearing is set for April 13.
