Intersection accident
Two Portland women were involved in a two-car accident about 11:30 a.m. Sunday at South Meridian and Seventh Street in Portland.
Tonya L. Hill, 25, 155 E. Lagro St., Pennville, told Portland police she was eastbound on West Seventh Street in her 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix and stopped at the intersection but did not see a northbound vehicle.
She proceeded into the intersection where her car collided with a 2011 Toyota Prius driven by Elizabeth J. Marshall, 78, 2986 Southtown Place, Portland. Marshall was unable to avoid the collision.
Damage to the two vehicles was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.

Backs into cycle
A car driven by a rural Portland woman backed into a motorcycle about 4 p.m. Friday at Indiana 26 and Jay County road 300 West.
Stacie J. Paxson, 38, 915 Joan Drive, told Jay County police she had stopped at the intersection and started to back up to make more room for a semi that was turning. She did not notice a 2014 Harley Davidson ridden by Christopher L. Hardesty, 31, 440 N. Charles St., Portland, which was stopped behind her.
Damage to the motorcycle and Paxson’s 2012 Chrysler was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.

Three hurt
Three people were injured shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday in an accident involving a buggy in Adams County.
Shawn D. Huey, 29, Phoenix, Arizona, told Adams County police he was southbound on Indiana 116 near Adams County road 800 South when he was distracted and failed to see a buggy driven by Verena T. Eicher, 22, Geneva, in front of him.
Verena Eicher and Henry C. Eicher, 22, Geneva, were ejected from the buggy and sustained visible injuries but declined treatment. Huey also complained of injuries but refused treatment. The horse sustained injuries to its leg.
Total damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.

Two injured
Two Fort Recovery residents were injured in a May 2 accident on Mercer County’s St. Joe Road west of Burrville Road.
Colton Grieshop, 17, Fort Recovery, was eastbound on St. Joe Road when his 2006 Infinity left the roadway and struck two parked vehicles.
Grieshop was taken by ambulance to Community Hospital, Coldwater, for treatment. A passenger in his vehicle, Derek Gaerke, 21, Fort Recovery, also sustained minor injuries.
