Last week vs. Miami Valley Christian Academy: Third-seeded Fort Recovery racked up 641 total yards and scored 48 points in the first half in a 62-34 victory against the No. 6 seed Lions. Will Homan rushed for 108 yards on seven carries and scored four first-half touchdowns. Quarterback Caleb Martin was 12-of-15 for 219 yards and two touchdowns.
Season leaders: Passing — Caleb Martin – 124-of-214 for 1,545 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Rushing — Kyle Schroer – 157 carries for 890 yards and 15 touchdowns. Receiving — Wes Wenning – 56 receptions for 835 yards and six touchdowns. Defense — Jason Roessner – 96 tackles and two fumble recoveries; Andrew Stocker – 17.5 tackles for loss; Adam LeFevre – 12.5 sacks.

Last week at Covington: A fourth-quarter touchdown gave No. 7 seed Lehman Catholic a 20-16 upset over second-seeded Covington. The Cavaliers were led by sophomore Owen Smith’s 110 yards on 13 carries. Smith, along with Stephen Monnin and Jake Earhart all had rushing touchdowns.
Season leaders: Passing — Stephen Monnin – 94-of-208 for 1,336 yards with 17 touchowns and 12 interceptions. Rushing — Jake Earhart – 162 carries for 1,027 yards and 12 touchdowns. Receiving — Dylan Arnold – 40 catches for 589 yards and 11 touchdowns. Defense — Owen Smith – 99 tackles; Mike Bunker – eight sacks, two tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries.

 

Last meeting: Back-to-back interceptions by Fort Recovery set up two of Kyle Schroer’s four rushing touchdowns as the Indians shut out the Cavaliers 36-0?Aug. 28 in Fort Recovery. Schroer totaled 146 yards on 21 carries, and Will Homan rushed 10 times for 102  yards. Quarterback Caleb Martin added 170 yards through the air, 70 of those to Wes Wenning.

Game notes: This is the second meeting between the Division VII No. 8 Indians and?Cavaliers this season. The first was Aug. 28 ... Fort Recovery opened the season 6-0, its best start in program history, and its only losses were to 2014 state champions Marion Local and Minster ... The third-seeded Indians average 24.5 points per game, which is fifth-best in school history. The defense has allowed a program-best 10 points per game ... Senior wide receiver Wes Wenning is closing in on three records — he is 49 yards shy of single-season receiving record,  45 yards away from the career receiving record and currently tied for first with 15 career receiving touchdowns.
