Jay County Hospital will be able to host cataract surgery starting next month.
The hospital board of trustees approved the purchase of up to $75,000 in equipment for the ophthalmologist program.
Hospital CEO Dave Hyatt told the board the hospital has been negotiating with Dr. Kevin Scripture, who currently operates in Muncie and Richmond.
Dr. Scripture will start operating one day a month at Jay County Hospital and consider adding days if volume demands it.
