Power scam
Indiana Michigan Power warns customers of scam artists posing as the company representatives with threats of disconnecting their service.
Scam artists are telling customers they are behind on their electric bill and threaten to disconnect their service unless they purchase a debit card, load it with money and call an 800 number to provide them with the debit card number.
I&M advises customers that it does not require immediate payment over the phone and should call I&M customer service if they receive such a request.
Anyone who has been victimized by the scam should contact their local police department.

Sale approved
The stations WPTA-TV and WISE-TV will change network affiliations after being sold.
The Federal Communications Commission approved the sale of WPTA to Quincy Newspapers Inc. and WISE to SagamoreHill in Augusta, Ga.
WPTA, Channel 21, is the ABC and CW network affiliate and WISE, Channel 33, holds the MyNetwork and NBC affiliation. On Nov. 1, NBC and MyNetwork will move to WPTA and CW will move to WISE.
A news release of the sale did not indicate which station would hold the ABC affiliation.
Granite Broadcasting Corp. owns WISE and Malara Broadcast Group Inc. owns WPTA. The two companies reached a joint-operating agreement in April 2014.
WISE also receives sales and other services from WPTA. As part of the sales agreement, the FCC requires WISE to hire its own sales staff. WPTA will still offer non-sales services to the WISE once the sale is final.
