Animals to be shown at Limberlost
Taking Note
A live animal presentation will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Limberlost State Historic Site Visitor Center in Geneva.
The animals will be shown by Joel Vanderbush of Animalia Inc. and will include a barred owl, a boa constrictor and a skunk.

Free concert
Wes Rediger, pastor of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Blackford County, will perform a free piano concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at Blackford County Arts Center.
The concert will feature musical selections from Scott Joplin, Jerome Kern, Schumann and Beethoven, gospel songs and familiar hymns.
Coloring party
Jay County Public Library will have a coloring party for adults and teens from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday.
Coloring therapy has recently become a popular way to reduce stress, improve focus and relax.
Coloring sheets, crayons, markers and colored pencils will be provided.
Entries in the coloring competition for this week’s Golden Games are on the library’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/jaycountylibrary.
Anyone can vote for their favorite picture and winners will be announced at the Golden Games Closing Ceremonies on Friday.
Fort Library
Fort Recovery Public Library has story time at 10:30 a.m. each Friday.
Story time is for local children and a parent or guardian and does not require any pre-registration.
Also Fort Recovery native Alex Meiring will speak about paranormal investigating at 7 p.m. on October 20.
Meiring works with Dark Alley Paranormal Investigators which uses ghost hunting equipment to investigate old buildings and residential homes.
The presentation is for mature teens and adults.
Halloween party
Building Bridges Halloween party will be held for those with special needs and local law enforcement.
The party will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, in the cafeteria/auxiliary gym at East Jay Middle School in Portland. Enter on the south side near the football field.
There will be fun, food and dancing and participants are encouraged to wear costumes.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts in Muncie will have a free kid friendly haunted house this month.
Nightmare on Main Street, the mysterious top level of Cornerstone, will be morphed into an ooey-gooey lair of fun.
Tours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 22, 23, 29 and 30.
A free community Halloween party will precede the haunted house on Oct. 29.
