Tribe girls finish sixth
FRHS cross country
COLDWATER, Ohio — Fort Recovery High School’s girls cross country team placed sixth Thursday in the Midwest Athletic Conference meet at Coldwater.
A pair of Tribe runners earned first-team all-conference honors as well.
Hannah Heitkamp crossed the finish line in 20 minutes, 15.27 seconds, for ninth place, and Chloe Will was three spots behind in 20:21.21, helping the Indians to a team score of 128.
Fort Recovery’s boys were last out of nine teams with a score of 204.
Minster swept both races. The Wildcat girls earned the top five spots to score a perfect 15. Versailles was 60 points behind in second, and St. Henry placed third with 103.
Minster’s boys scored 43 points for the team title, with New Bremen (66) finishing second and St. Henry (77) third.
Elise Gehle was the No. 3 runner for Fort Recovery’s girls, finishing 35th in 21:38.37.
Caitlyn Huelskamp placed 42nd with a time of 21:57.34, and Grace Gehle completed the Tribe’s team score by crossing the finish line in 23:02.17 for 58th.
Isaac Siegrist was the top runner for the FRHS boys, placing 17th in 18:07.37. Travis Sutter finished 27th in 18:35.55, and Isaac Burkhardt had a time of 19:46.62 for 59th.
Cameron Romer (20:53.77 – 91st) and Noah Homan (29:58.27 – 95th) were the fourth and fifth runners respectively.
Also running for Fort Recovery were Harrison Kaup (22:50.08 – 110th), Eddie Hemmert (23:10.05 – 114th), Daniel Cope (24:35.93 – 122nd), Nathan Weigel (25:53 – 125th), and Jason Siefring (26:21.68 – 127th).
Alexis Hobbs (23:02.17 – 61st), Chelsea Timmerman (23:26.9 – 70th) Paige Hemmert (23:48.65 – 74th), Emily May (24:35.98 – 85th), Heather Klenke (25:42.96 – 99th), Sydney Alig (25:55.51 – 102nd), Courtney Metzger (28:09.58 – 124th), Rachel Moorman (28:47.24 – 127th) and Kylee Kaiser (31:11 – 139) also ran for the Tribe girls.
Middle school
Fort Recovery Middle School’s boys cross country team finished second out of eight teams.
The Tribe girls were last out of eight squads.
Drew Muhlenkamp led the FRMS boys, finishing third in 11:43.98. Jared Timmerman finished in 12:10.9 for 10th, and Josh Gonzalez was 12th in 12:25.65.
Hanna Metzger and Anna Wendel led the girls, finishing back-to-back in 30th and 40th. Metzger had a time of 14:26.8 and Wendel ran in 14:32.37.
