Jewelry class scheduled

A Cold Connection Jewelry two-day workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and again on Oct. 31 at Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St. in Portland.
Teaching artist Beth Wentz will show how to connect metal to metal without solder.
Finished pieces will include earrings and pendants. The cost is $50.
Bring a light lunch and snacks and drinks will be provided.

Upcoming classes at Arts Place include making stained glass holiday trees from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 for $5 and a Glass and Palette class on watercolors from noon until 3 p.m. on Nov. 14. The cost is $30.     
Book sale
Friends of Winchester Library (FOWL) will have a book sale in Nov. at the Winchester Community Library, 125 N. East St.
The sale will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, and 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
