Rear-end crash
A Redkey man and a Portland woman were involved in an accident at 6:57 p.m. Saturday on Votaw Street near Charles Street in Portland.
Chad A. Lykins Jr., 18, 19 N. Meridian St., told a Portland police officer he was driving west on Votaw Street when his 2004 Saturn Ion struck the rear of a 2000 Ford Windstar.
Jannifer M. Price, 27, 1228 W. Water St., was stopped waiting to turn left onto Charles Street when her vehicle was struck.
Damage is estimated between $2,000 and $5,000.

Off-road crash
A Portland woman drove off Indiana 26 at 9:18 p.m. Friday near county road 50 North.
Cheyenne N. Cline, 18, 1195 N. U.S. 27, told a Jay County Sheriff’s Office deputy she was driving east on Indiana 26 and tried making a right turn onto county road 50 North. She said she was going too fast and ran off the east side of the road.
The car she was driving, a 1992 Buick RGC, is registered to Ellen M. Aker, 1220 Meadow Lane.
Damage is estimated to be less than $1,000.

Deer accident
A Fort Recovery man’s vehicle collided with a deer at 7 p.m. Sunday on Indiana 26 in Noble Township.
Rhoades R. Carlton, 73, 409 E. Boundary St., told a Jay County Sheriff’s Office deputy he was driving east on Indiana 26 when a deer ran onto the road. He said he was not able to avoid crashing into the deer with his 2002 Volkwagen Jetta.
Damage is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.

Deer accident
A Redkey man’s vehicle hit a deer at 8:25 p.m. Sunday on Indiana 67 in Jefferson Township.
Jonathon L. Weaver, 20, 604 S. Meridian St. told Jay County Sheriff’s Office deputy he was traveling north on Indiana 67 when a deer ran onto the roadway. He said he was unable to avoid crashing into the dear with the 1989 GMC Sierra he was driving.
The truck is registered to Renee J. Weaver of the same address.
Damage is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
