Sutter, Fort Recovery girls reach regional

Girls' cross county team places third

OTTAWA, Ohio — The Tribe girls and a solo boy will run another week.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls cross country team placed third Saturday at the Division III district meet in Ottawa, advancing to next week’s regional meet.
Travis Sutter finished fifth to earn an individual berth at regional.
The top four teams and individuals not on qualifying squads who finish in the top 16 positions advance to Saturday’s regional at Tiffin University.
The Minster Wildcats earned a perfect score of 15 to win the girls race, leaving runner-up Lincolnlview Lancers in the dust with 75 points. Fort Recovery scored 83 points, and the Marion Local Flyers were fourth with 119.

Minster also won the boys race, totaling 83 points to edge runner-up Lincolnview by seven. Ayersville placed third with 93, and Antwerp was fourth with 125. Fort Recovery scored 235 points to finish 10th.
Freshmen Hannah Heitkamp and Chloe Will both finished in the top 10 to lead the Indian girls. Heitkamp was sixth in 20 minutes, 16.7 seconds, and Will was three spots behind in 20:33.6.
Senior Caitlyn Huelskamp (21:58.7) and freshman Elise Gehle (22:12.5) were 17th and 20th respectively. Grace Gehle, a junior, completed the Indians’ team score, finishing 34th in 23:26.1.
Sutter, a junior, led the FRHS boys, finishing fifth with a time of 17:29.2. Senior Isaac Siegrist placed 19th in 18:09.4, and junior Isaac Burkhardt was 70th in 21:00.9. Cameron Romer (21:06.5) and Noah Homan (21:51.7) were 74th and 83rd respectively to complete the Tribe’s team score.
Chelsea Timmerman (43rd – 24:17.7) and Alexis Hobbs (44th – 24:29.6) also ran for the FRHS girls, and Harrison Kaup (93rd – 24:07.6) and Eddie Hemmert (98th – 25:54.2) ran for the boys.
