Tribe ranked sixth

Fort Recovery received two first-place votes in Division VII

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Indians are again one of the best teams in the state.
In the first Associated Press poll of the season, the Fort Recovery High School football team is ranked sixth in Division VII.
The Indians (3-0, 1-0 Midwest Athletic Conference), who were as high as sixth last season, received 84 points, including two first-place votes.
Warren John F. Kennedy received 177 points and is ranked No. 1. Danville (156) is second, and Caldwell (118) is third.
MAC foe and reigning Division VI champion Minster — who the Indians play Oct. 9 in Fort Recovery — is fourth with 113 points.
Fort Recovery trails Lucas by two points, and is head of seventh-ranked Vienna Mathews by one point.
Mogadore (78), West Unity Hilltop (59) and McComb (53) round out the top 10.
The four-time defending Division VII state champion and conference opponent Marion Local Flyers were moved up to Division VI and debuted at No. 1. The St. Henry Redskins are third in Division VI.
Coldwater, another MAC school, is ranked No. 1 in Division V. The Cavs won the state title last season.
