Tribe rallies to beat Stars

BERNE — The Starfires won the first set Tuesday 25-23.
The Indians won the final three.
Fort Recovery High School’s volleyball team defeated South Adams on Monday, 23-25, 25-19, 25-19, 27-25.
Kendra Siefring, a Fort Recovery senior, led the all players with 16 kills. She also added seven blocks, three aces and 18 digs.
Carley Stone chipped in with 10 kills and a dozen digs to go with her four blocks. Madison Grover tallied 18 digs, and Kirsten Jutte recorded 27 assists. Cassidy Martin and Devin Post both had six kills for the Tribe (6-5).
Addie Wanner was the lone Starfire to reach double-digit kills with 10. Madi Wurster added eight kills and six digs, and Kylie Grabau tallied seven kills to go with her two blocks. Caralie Farlow and Kylea Pierce both recorded 15 digs, and Julia Grabau had 32 assists for South Adams (13-4)
Fort Recovery’s junior varsity team also won, 25-23, 25-22.
Carly Link had five kills to pace the Tribe, and Grace Thien added four to go with her team-high 10 digs. Madi Rammel tallied 11 assists, with Hannah Knapke and Jill Roessner both adding five digs.
Jade Farlow led the Starfires with four kills. Shaelynn Bowman chipped in with three, and Sydney Pierce added two to go with her seven digs.
On Monday, Fort Recovery defeated Arcanum 25-22, 25-17, 25-16. Siefring notched 15 kills, with Cassidy Martin adding nine. Juttie had a team-high 22 assists to go with her 10 digs, and Grover tallied 11 digs.
The Tribe’s JV squad also beat Arcanum, 25-9, 25-15. Link led the offense with six kills. Aleigha Jenkins and Knapke both added three.
South Adams lost Monday to Class A No. 10 Blackhawk Christian, 25-14, 25-20, 25-18. Wanner had two blocks and Kylea Pierce had five digs. Morgan Alberson and Wurster both had four digs as well.
Neal had a dozen digs in the SAHS junior varsity’s 25-10, 25-23 loss to Blackhawk. Jade Farlow tallied two kills.
