Meeting to be held at JCHS
Taking Note
The September program meeting of the Jay County Historical Society will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and feature “Native American Tribes of Jay County: The Miami and Other Tribes” by Ed Paxson and Dr. Kevin Nolan.
Paxson is a Native American historian and relics collector and Nolas is senior archeologist from Ball State University School of Anthropology.

CPR/AED class
A non-healthcare provider CPR/AED HeartSaver Class will be taught in October at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
The class will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Decatur Room 1 of the hospital.
In addition to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), students will also learn how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED), which can deliver a shock to restart the heart of a patient in cardiac arrest.

To perform
The Chelsea House Orchestra will perform at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Jay County High School.
The concert is sponsored by the Jay County Indiana Bicentennial Committee.

Studied abroad
Alison Koch, Fort Recovery, a senior studying professional writing at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, spent the summer semester in Italy as part of a study abroad group.
