Jay County’s girls won nearly every event in their victory.
The Patriot boys had a few first-place finishes, but not enough to earn the win.
Jay County High School’s girls track team won 12 of 15 events Tuesday in an 86-36 victory over the Bluffton Tigers.
The JCHS boys lost 91-32.
Junior Britlyn Dues claimed victories in both of the hurdles races. She won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.62 seconds, and crossed the finish line in 50.6 seconds in the 300 hurdles.
Sisters Lucy and Emma Laux were first in the sprinting events. Lucy, a sophomore, won the 100 dash in 14.05 seconds, and the senior Emma won the 200 dash in 28.63 seconds.

Freshman Kendra Muhlenkamp beat out a pair of teammates in the 1,600 run, winning in 5 minutes. 56 seconds. Erika Kunkler was first in the 800 run (2:39) and Megan Wellman won the 3,200 in 13:23.
Muhlenkamp, Kunkler and Wellman teamed with Taylor Homan for a win in the 4x800 relay with their time of 11:07.
Kelsey Burden (400 dash – 1:06), Gwen Omstead (shot put – 28 feet, 11 inches) and Audrey Shreve (high jump – 4 feet, 8 inches) also picked up individual victories.
Emma Laux, Burden, Homan and Dues combined to win the 4x400 relay in 4:32.
Andrew Trewyn earned a pair of victories for the JCHS boys. His height of 6 feet, 2 inches, was four more than the rest of the field in a high jump victory. He also won shot put with a distance of 39 feet, 3 inches.
Travis Barton accounted for the only other Patriot win, finishing in 11:26 to take first in the 3,200 run.
