Public Notice TOWN OF REDKEY Jay County, Indiana 2016 Wastewater System Improvements ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed Bids for the construction of the Town or Redkey, 2016 Wastewater System will be received by the Town of Redkey, at the Town Hall located at 8922 West State Road 67, PO BOX 21, Redkey, Indiana 47373, until 3:30 p.m. local time on May 19, 2016. Bids shall be opened at the Town Council meeting held at the Redkey Park Cabin, located at 200 S. Mooney Street, at 6:00 p.m, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of constructing improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and include: Demolition of the existing grit channel, chlorine contact tank and cascade aerator structure, select process equipment and pumps, partial demolition of lab area, and select piping, mechanical and electrical. Improvements include new dry-pit submersible influent pumps, Headworks Building with in-channel fine screening mechanism and grit removal with classifier, oxidation ditch equipment replacement, rectangular clarifiers, ultraviolet disinfection, cascade aeration, sludge holding tank air diffusion and mixing system, rotary lobe sludge pumps, submersible scum pumping station, Parshall Flumes, FRP weirs, FRP troughs, FRP baffles, aluminum access hatches, building sump pump, hydraulic gates, portable hoist, plant safety equipment, emergency generator set with automatic transfer switch, lab casework, FRP doors, handrail, grating, planking, HVAC, plumbing, piping, valves, concrete, hot-mixed asphalt, masonry, roofing, painting, electrical, controls and instrumentation, separating the common storm water and sanitary effluent pipe, all to make a functional treatment system. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis, with cash allowance, as indicated in the Bid Form. Mooney Street, Redkey, IN 47373. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory. Additionally, a site orientation meeting of the Redkey Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 455 S. Union Street, will be conducted immediately following the pre-bid meeting. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms included in the Specifications. The bid documents shall include all information requested by Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2013) included with the Specifications. Under Section III of Form 96, the Bidder shall submit a financial statement. A copy of the proposed Financial Statement to be submitted with the bid is included in the bid documents section to these specifications. The Owner may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the Bidder to perform the work and the Bidder shall furnish to the Owner all such information and data for this purpose as the Owner may request. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such Bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Agreement and to complete the work contemplated therein. The Town of Redkey reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and make the award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the Town.
