Another no-hitter for JC baseball

Patriot pitchers stellar in consecutive games

WINCHESTER — It had been 1,099 days between no-hitters for the Patriots.
Then, they had two in less than 16 hours.
Freshman Wyatt Geesaman didn’t allow a hit Saturday, and the Jay County High School baseball team lit up the scoreboard to the tune of 34 runs and 30 hits in a doubleheader sweep of the Winchester Golden Falcons.
Geesaman — he was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and an RBI — struck out six in a 14-1 victory in the first game.
The Patriots won the second, 20-1.
The only blemish on Geesaman’s line score was a run in the fifth inning during which a walk and two stolen bases got a runner on third, and a passed ball brought him home.

It was the third and final walk of the game for Geesaman.
Jay County (6-3), which defeated Woodlan 4-0 Friday night behind Jake Myers’ no-hitter, scored seven runs each in the third and fourth innings against the Golden Falcons.
Andy Kohler had a double and two singles, and Cole Stigleman had two hits. Chandler Jacks and Kohler both had three RBIs, with Josh Vaughn, Ethan Myers and Michael Schlechty each driving in a pair of runs.
In game two, Jay County led 4-1 after the first frame and tacked on seven runs in the second, two in the third, six in the fourth and one in the fifth, while racking up 15 total hits for the second consecutive game.
Ryan Schlecthy had season highs in hits (four, including a double) and RBIs (five). Jacob Geesaman, Jacks and Ethan Myers had two hits each. Kohler had a triple and three RBIs, and Jacks also drove in three runs.
Ethan Myers got the win on the bump, giving up one earned run on two hits while striking out seven and walking two in four innings of work.
