Syringe possession
Caz M. Lawhorn, 22, Dunkirk, was found guilty of unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. She was sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 30 days suspended, given 22 days credit for 11 days served, ordered to serve the remaining eight days of her sentence, which began Friday, and receive day-for-day credit, fined $100, assessed court costs of $183, ordered to pay a substance abuse program fee of $400 and placed on formal probation for 11 months.
Theft
Troy D. Easton, 47, Redkey, was found guilty of theft, enhanced to a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to 150 days in Jay County Jail to be served consecutive to the sentences imposed for two criminal misdemeanor convictions, given 150 days credit for 75 days served and assessed court costs of $183.
He also violated the terms of his probation originally imposed July 17, 2015, after a conviction of theft, a Class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to an additional 150 days of the one-year sentence originally imposed, to be served consecutive to the sentences for convictions of theft and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, given 60 days credit for 30 days already served from March 22 to April 20, ordered to serve the remaining 90 days of his sentence, which began April 21, and receive day-for-day credit.
He also violated the terms of his probation originally imposed July 17, 2015, after a conviction of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor — Sentenced to an additional 30 days of the 60 day sentence originally imposed to be served consecutive to the other two convictions, given 30 days credit for 15 days served from March 7 to March 21.
Possession of a syringe
Cody S. Gierhart, 26, Portland, was found guilty of unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to 18 months in Jay County Jail with all but 180 days suspended, given four days credit for two days served, ordered to serve the remaining 176 days of his sentence on electronically monitored home detention, fined $100, assessed court costs of $183, ordered to pay a substance abuse program fee of $400 and attend and pay for the Moral Recognition Therapy program for $150, and placed on formal probation for one year. As part of the plea agreement, the charge of possession of a controlled substance was dismissed.

Everett D. Ruhl, 39, Portland was found guilty of unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail to be served consecutive to the sentence imposed after a conviction of dealing a schedule I controlled substance, a Class B felony, given 224 days credit for 112 days served, ordered to serve the remaining one year less 224 days of his sentenced, which began April 21 and receive day for day credit, and assessed court costs of $183.
Fraud
Kaitlyn E. Stephens, 26, Farmland, was found guilty of fraud, a Level 6 felony. She was sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 181 days suspended, to be served consecutive to the sentence imposed after a conviction of unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony, given 127 days credit for 67 days served, ordered to serve the remaining 54 days of her sentence on electronically-monitored home detention and receive day-for-day credit, assessed court costs of $183, ordered to attend and pay for the Moral Recognition Therapy program for $150 and placed on formal probation for six months.
She also violated the terms of her probation originally imposed April 28, 2015, after a conviction of unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. Sentenced to serve an additional 40 days of the one-year sentence in Jay County Jail to be served consecutive to the fraud conviction, which began April 20.
Dealing
Glen W. Wilburn, Jr., 33, Hartford City, was found guilty of dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony. He was sentenced to five years in the Indiana Department of Correction with all but three years and six months suspended to be served consecutive to the pending Delaware Circuit Court conviction of three counts of dealing a narcotic drug, all Level 5 felonies, given credit for time served from Sept. 24 to Oct. 31 and from Feb. 29 to the present, assessed court costs of $183, ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 and substance abuse fee of $400, and placed on formal probation for three years and six months. As part of the plea agreement, the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of chemical reagents or precursors with intent to manufacture a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a syringe were dismissed.
