CELINA, Ohio — The Indians tied for fourth in Mercer County last season.
This year, only one team beat them.
The Fort Recovery High School boys golf team finished second in the Mercer County Invitational on Tuesday at Mercer County Elks Golf Club.
St. Henry won the six-team tournament with a score of 343. The Indians scored 377 for the runner-up spot, and Parkway was third with 393.
Austin Faller led the Indians by shooting a 91. Calvin Rammel turned in the Tribe’s No. 2 score of a 93, and Harrison Kaup was third on the squad with a 96.
Micaiah Cox shot a 97 to round out the Indians’ team score.
Grant Knapke (101) and Austin Pohl (104) also competed for the Tribe.
St. Henry’s Kyle Naumann was the individual champion by shooting a 7-over par 79.
FR girls sixth
VAN WERT, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s girls golf team placed sixth Tuesday in the Lincolnview Invite at Hickory Sticks Golf Course.
The Tribe totaled 459.
Emily Bruns was the lone Indian golfer to stay under triple digits, shooting a 98. Elli Keller was second on the team with a 115, one stroke ahead of Kirsten Keller.
Sophie Timmerman completed the Indians’ team score with a 130.
