MUNCIE — The Patriots had their lowest score of the season.
The Bearcats were slightly better.
Jay County High School’s girls golf team had four players shoot career-best scores in a 193-202 loss to the Muncie Central Bearcats on Thursday at Crestview Golf Course.
Kendra Dodd, a senior, led Jay County (0-3) with a 48, shaving two strokes off the previous career-best she set Sept. 10. Fellow seniors Cassie Reno and Madison Brown both had identical scores of 50 to also post career lows. Reno beat her previous best by one stroke, and Brown cut eight off her lowest score.
Carlie Wickey completed the Patriots’ team score with a 54.
Also competing for Jay County were Madalyn Garringer and Sierra Caster. Garringer’s score of 59 was a new career best, and Caster finished with a 62.
The Patriots return to action on Monday at Anderson. Tee time is 4:30 p.m.
