Backing accident
A Parker City woman backed her van into a parked motorcycle Thursday afternoon in Portland.
Jeanette K. Ake, 52, 244 N. Market St., was backing up her 1999 Dodge Caravan at 414 N. Meridian St. when it struck a 1986 Honda motorcycle, knocking it over. Ake told Portland police she did not see the parked vehicle.
The motorcycle is registered to Steven L. Craig Sr., 907 E. Race Street, Portland.
Damage in the 4:22 p.m. accident is estimated to be less than $1,000.
Contempt of court
A Dunkirk man was found in contempt of court and arrested Thursday afternoon.
Mark A. Stinson, 48, 5 W. Leisure Lane, Apt. 5, was found in contempt of court in Jay Circuit Court and is currently being held in Jay County Jail without bond.
