Golf cart accident
A Portland woman was injured Saturday evening in an accident involving a car and a golf cart.
Hannah M. Affolder, 25, 831 E. Main St., was headed west on Votaw Street when she tried to pass a westbound E-Z-Go golf cart in her 2004 Chevrolet Malibu. The golf cart, driven by Michael D. Arnold, 54, 415 E. Votaw St., Portland, tried to turn left onto Harrison Street. According to Portland Police Department, Arnold did not signal that he intended to turn left.
Affolder’s Malibu struck the back of Arnold’s golf cart, ejecting its passenger, Rebecca Ballard, 62, 25 Sesame St., Portland. Jay Emergency Medical Service responded and provided assistance.
Damage from the 4:55 p.m. accident is estimated to be between $5,000 and $10,000.
