Fitness challenges met at Berne pavilion
Taking Note
Two women set physical fitness goals recently at the Arthur & Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion in Berne.
Katrina Jones, 49, was the first to complete the 100 Mile Swim Club on July 31. She lost weight and then began her physical fitness challenge to swim 100 miles in a year in January.
Jones was a swimmer in high school, going to the state competition for the butterfly stroke and a relay team her junior year and hadn’t been swimming for 30 years.
Carol Lehman, 64, completed the 100 Mile Water Walking Club in 100 days. She was a freestyle swimmer in high school, but prefers water walking because she has a pacemaker, which makes it difficult to swim.
