HARTFORD CITY — The Jay County High School football team finished the job Saturday for a 42-8 victory over the Blackford Bruins in a game that was postponed Friday because of lightning.
Already holding a 14-0 lead, the Patriots (1-1) went wild in the second quarter. Over a span of 8 minutes, 25 seconds, they scored three touchdowns and racked up 133 yards of total offense. The highlight of the offensive was quarterback Holton Hill escaping two Blackford rushes and finding Cole Stigleman on the right sideline for a 36-yard touchdown pass.
