A rural Portland woman who was reported missing late last month is alive and well.

Donna Pitman, a 67-year-old retiree, was located Monday after her car was found in a parking lot outside of Indiana.

Jay County Sheriff’s Office investigator Patrick Wells got a call Monday from Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center, a state agency that collects and disseminates information to law enforcement around the state. Wells was informed that Pitman’s 2012 Lincoln MKZ had been found in a parking lot outside of Indiana over the weekend.

When detectives approached her car, Pitman told them that she did not want her location publicly disclosed. She later spoke with Wells on the phone and told him she voluntarily decided to leave her home on the evening of Nov. 28. Wells encouraged her to call her family.

Pitman is no longer considered a missing person.

She was originally reported missing Nov. 30, two days after she drove away from her home at 5036 S. Mount Pleasant Road in her Lincoln MKZ. She had not been seen or heard from until Monday.
