Elijah Kahlig once scored 22 points as a freshman.
His best performance as a sophomore was 17.
Ten games into his junior season, Kahlig matched his career-high point total.
Kahlig, a 2014 Fort Recovery High School graduate, was second on the team with 22 points on Saturday, helping the University of Findlay men’s basketball team to a 72-70 victory over Michigan Tech.
Kahlig was 7-for-13 from the field, including a career-high 6-of-11 performance from the 3-point line. He also made both of his free throws as only teammate Taren Sullivan (25 points) scored more than he did. Kahlig, who also had two rebounds, one assist and a steal, hit a 3-pointer to give the Oilers (7-3, 4-2 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) a 70-67 advantage with just under two minutes remaining.
Kahlig pushed his scoring average to 9.9 points per game.
Scott Schwieterman

Recorded his season high in scoring Monday as the Indiana Tech men’s basketball team topped Ohio Christian 82-73.
Schwieterman was an efficient scorer for the Warriors (11-4) as he shot 8-of-12 from the field, made his only 3-pointer and was perfect on three tries from the foul line for 20 points. He also had four rebounds, two steals and two assists.
The junior just missed a double-double Saturday, totaling 10 points and nine rebounds as Indiana Tech topped Concordia 80-58. He added four assists, two blocks and a steal.
Sawyer Miller
South Adams – 2015
Picked up his 14th win of the season for the Indiana Tech wrestling team on Sunday in a loss to Indiana University in Bloomington.
Miller, who is the fourth-ranked 125-pounder in the country, defeated Liam Cornin by a 9-3 decision for the NAIA No. 2 Warriors in their 35-9 loss to the Hoosiers.
The victory moved the sophomore to 14-2 on the season.
Abby Wendel

Tied for third in scoring for the University of Rio Grande women’s basketball team during its trip to Puerto Rico.
Wendel was 3-for-7 from the field with one 3-pointer as she finished with seven points Tuesday in a 69-53 victory over Interamericana University.
She also had one rebound and a pair of assists for the Red Storm (9-6). The freshman made one basket and all four of her free throws to finish with six points on Wednesday in a 73-47 win against Universidad del Este.
Wade Gelhaus
Fort Recovery – 2013
Helped the NCAA Division II No. 7 Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team run its record to 11-1 with an 81-63 victory Saturday over Central State.
Gelhaus was second for the Cardinals with six rebounds in the victory. He also scored four points.
The senior also had two points, five rebounds and a block Friday in SVSU’s 76-69 triumph over Ohio Dominican.

Tied for fourth in rebounds for the Brescia University women’s basketball team Tuesday in its 94-60 victory over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
The sophomore hauled in three rebounds on both ends of the court to finish with six boards. She was also 2-for-8 shooting to total four points, while also tallying three steals and one assist for the Bearcats (1-13), who snapped a 12-game losing streak.
