FRHS girls win twice

VAN WERT, Ohio — Three swimmers won two races each in helping the Fort Recovery High School girls swim team to a pair of victories Thursday.

The Tribe girls defeated the Marion Local Flyers 52-40 and earned a 47-45 victory over host Van Wert.

Fort Recovery’s boys knocked off Marion Local 45-38 but lost to Van Wert 42-35.

Cassy Martin, Alexis Bubp and Sophie Timmerman all picked up a pair of individual wins. Martin placed first in the 200-meter individual medley and the 100 freestyle, Bubp won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, and Timmerman finished first in the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

Faith Hull also earned a victory in the 200 freestyle.

Kelsey Jutte, Martin, Timmerman and Bubp teamed for a win in the 200 medley relay, and Rachel Acheson, Hull, Bubp and Martin won the 200 freestyle relay.

Nolan Thobe was victorious in both the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke for the Fort Recovery boys. Harrison Kaup earned a win in the 50 freestyle.
