LIMA, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s girls swim team placed sixth out of 21 teams Tuesday afternoon in the Holiday Invite hosted by Lima Central Catholic at Lima YMCA.
Ottawa-Glandorf won the girls meet with 292 points. Celina was second with 284 and Lima Shawnee was third with 261. Fort Recovery totaled 166 points.
Celina won the boys meet with 249 points. Shawnee was runner up with 300 and Wapakoneta scored 239 for third. Fort Recovery placed 11th with 60 points.
Sophie Timmerman earned the only victory for Fort Recovery, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 12.99 seconds. She was also fourth in the 500 freestyle.
Alexis Bubp was second and third respectively in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle, while Cassy Martin finished third in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 100 backstroke.
The 200 medley relay team of Faith Hull, Martin, Timmerman and Bubp placed third, and the same four were fourth in the 200 freestyle relay.
Nolan Thobe and Harrison Kaup earned the two best finishes for the FRHS boys. Thobe was 10th in the 200 IM and Kaup placed 12th in the 50 freestyle. Owen Sheridan finished 14th in the 100 butterfly.
The Indians’ 200 freestyle relay of Robby LeFevre, Thobe, Sheridan and Kaup placed seventh.

INDIANAPOLIS — Isaiah Baumgartner didn’t lose a match.
His squad fared almost just as well.
Baumgartner went undefeated in all five matches Tuesday as the South Adams High School wrestling team finished 4-1 at the Ben Davis Giant 16 tournament.
South Adams opened the dual tournament with a 66-6 win against Northwest before a 48-27 victory over Terre Haute North. The Starfires knocked off Danville 48-27 and Tri West 51-24 before a 52-9 loss to Whiteland.
Baumgartner received two forfeits and recorded one pin on his way to a 5-0 record. Brandon Wynn and Josh Lahr were both 4-1, while Austin McKibben and Zach Loshe finished with 3-1 records. Wyatt Miller, Alex Sator, Keegon Boxell and Jordan Heckler were all 3-2, while Tayler Cueller was 2-2 and Ethan Blomeke 1-1. Collin Shaffer and Briar Goodwin won their only matches.

Sophomore Daniel Ostrowski finished in fifth place in the 182-pound weight class.
