Cady Farlow got to swim at the state championships while at South Adams.
During her freshman year at Purdue, she’ll swim at the national championships.
Farlow earned an NCAA B cut in the 100-yard breaststroke Friday during the Big Ten Championships at Canham Natatorium on the campus of the University of Michigan.
She was 18th with a time of 1 minute, 1.85 seconds, nearly two seconds faster than the sectional record of 1:03.99 she set as a senior at South Adams.
She was 25th in the 200 breaststroke on Saturday, finishing with a time of 2:15.38.
The Boilermakers were fifth as a team with 766.5 points. The host Wolverines won with 1,361 points, knocking off four-time defending champion Minnesota, which was third with 927.5. Indiana University scored 1,207.5 for second, and Ohio State scored 859 points to finish ahead of Purdue.

Made the most of his minutes as he returned to the court for the NAIA Division II No. 15 Indiana Tech men’s basketball team for the first time since early January.
Schwieterman, who had missed 14 straight games because of injuries, scored 12 points in 12 minutes Wednesday in a 72-64 win for the Warriors (23-8) over Concordia in the opening round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament. He shot 5-of-8 from the field, grabbed seven rebounds and had one block.

Helped the University of St. Francis lock up the outright Crossroads League championship with an 87-74 victory Saturday over Indiana Wesleyan.
Comer finished with nine points for the NAIA Division II No. 3 Cougars, who improved to 26-4. He added one assist and one rebound.

Took second place in a pair of races Saturday as her Defiance College squad hosted the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Miller was the No. 2 distance runner in the HCAC, finishing behind Mariah Jordan of Manchester in both of her events. Her runner-up times were 10 minutes, 29.7 seconds, in the 3,000-meter run and 18:17.3 in the 5,000 run.
Collin Affolder
South Adams – 2014
Had two hits and scored a run for the Bethel College baseball team in the second game of a doubleheader against the Indiana Tech Warriors on Saturday.
After going hitless in the opener — a 22-2 loss — Affolder singled in the first inning and later scored on a three-run triple as the Pilots (0-2) led 4-0 after one.
The sophomore added a hit in the seventh inning after the game was well out of reach in a 23-6 loss.
Elijah Kahlig
Fort Recovery – 2014
Was efficient in his limited time off the bench for the University of Findlay men’s basketball team Saturday in a 70-69 victory over Malone.
The sophomore made two of his five 3-point attempts and finished with eight points. He also grabbed one rebound in nine minutes.
Kahlig scored his only points from distance for the Oilers (19-7, 15-5 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) in a 74-68 win against Walsh on Feb. 18.
Wade Gelhaus

Finished second in rebounds for the NCAA Division II No. 15 Saginaw Valley State University men’s basketball team Feb. 18 against Grand Valley State.
Gelhaus came off the bench and grabbed five rebounds for the Cardinals (22-5), who fell 76-73. He also had seven points and a block.
The junior notched one rebound, one assist and one steal in Saturday’s 88-79 win over Ferris State.

Scored five points and had one rebound for the Brescia University women’s basketball team Wednesday in an 80-69 victory against Point Park. She was 1-of-4 from the field and made all three of her free-throw attempts in 19 minutes off the bench.
The freshman was without a point Saturday as the Bearcats (19-13, 13-4 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) defeated Rio Grande 112-91.
Two days earlier she scored two points, grabbed four rebounds, dished one assist and had a steal in a 73-57 win over Midway.

Finished 11th in the 800-meter run for the IPFW women’s track team Friday in a quad meet at Ball State University.
She finished with a time of 2 minutes, 50.32 seconds. Ball State’s Danielle Dahl won with a time of 2:14.05.
The Mastodons were 0-3 on the day, losing to Wright State (112-51), Western Michigan (127.5-41.5) and to the host Cardinals (101-53).

Started for the University of Northwestern Ohio men’s basketball team Saturday in its 59-42 loss to Lawrence Tech.
Kahlig grabbed four rebounds for the Racers, who slipped to 13-17 on the season. She also had three points.

Was a starter for the University of Northwestern Ohio men’s basketball team as its season came to an end Wednesday with a 61-49 loss to NAIA No. 8 Cornerstone in the quarterfinal round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference quarterfinal.
Pottkotter had two assists, two rebounds and a steal for the Racers, who finished at 12-19.
He finished with six points, two rebounds and one assist in Saturday’s 76-56 victory over Lawrence Tech.

Made his collegiate debut for the Goshen College baseball team Saturday in a 14-6 victory against Alice Lloyd College in Emerson, Georgia.
The freshman entered the seventh inning as a pinch hitter and popped out to the shortstop.
After having the first four games of the season canceled, the Maple Leafs are 2-3.
