Schools name spelling winners
Taking Note
Spelling Bee winners were recently named in Jay County Elementary schools.
The champion at Pennville Elementary was James Larrowe. He is the son of Jill Larrowe and is a fifth grade student.
The alternate is Amari Crouse. She is the daughter of Randy and Alisia Crouse and is also in the fifth grade.
The champion at Judge Haynes Elementary was Ella Doll.
She is the daughter of Earl and Rachel Doll and is in the fifth grade.
The alternate is Braylee VanSkyock.
She is the daughter of Laramie and Brandy VanSkyock and is in the fourth grade.
James and Ella will advance to the District Spelling Bee on March 12 in Muncie.

West Jay Middle School named its Students of the Month for January.
In sixth grade was Elizabeth Dollar, the daughter of Rodney Dollar.
In seventh grade was Hannah Littler, the daughter of Nicci Littler and Clint Littler.
In eighth grade was Megan Templeton, the daughter of Jeanette Templeton and Darrell Templeton.
